How to Make a Default Web Page for IIS
1. Click the Windows 'Start' button. Click 'Administrative Tools,' then click 'Internet Information Services Manager.' The main configuration utility opens for your websites.
2. Right-click the website you want to edit. In the pop-up menu, click 'Properties.' A new website properties window opens. In this window, click the 'Documents' tab. A list of current configured default Web pages is displayed.
3. Check the box labeled 'Enable default content page.' Click the 'Add' button. A new window opens. Type the default Web page name in the text box. Make sure you include the file extension. For instance, if the default page is 'mypage.aspx,' make sure you type the entire file name with the 'aspx' extension.
4. Click 'OK' to save your settings. Click 'OK' again in the main properties window to save the settings and close the window.
