How to Save to the Gallery in Android

Email

1. Open the email app on your device. Press the 'Home' button to go to the home screen. Select the apps option, which is usually located at the bottom of the display. Tap on the app you use for emailing.

2. Locate the message with the image you want to save to the gallery and tap on that email.

3. Tap the the 'Download' button if you're using the Gmail app, or tap the 'Save' button if you're using an email app. The download will begin, and you will see a download icon in the status bar.

4. Open the Gallery app to view the file that just saved. Sometimes the app will take a few moments or even a few minutes to refresh its list of files, but as long as the image file is compatible with your Android device, the app will locate and display it.

Browser

5. Open the browser app. Most Android devices have an 'Internet' shortcut button you can use at the bottom of the home screen, but if yours doesn't, tap the Apps option on the screen.

6. Go to the site that has the image you want to download.

7. Press and hold your finger on the image. A list of options will appear on your screen.

8. Tap 'Save image.' Depending on your browser, you may have an opportunity to name the image, or the browser may begin downloading the image immediately. You'll see a download icon in the status bar at the top of the screen.

9. Open the Gallery app to view the image that just saved.
