How to Hard Reset an Android Phone

1. Press and hold the red power button for three to five seconds to shut down the Android phone.

2. Press and hold the 'Home' button and the red power button simultaneously. Continue to hold the buttons for approximately 25 seconds. Hold until you see a triangle and an exclamation point appear on the screen. Release the buttons.

3. Slide out the phone's QWERTY keyboard. Hold down the 'Alt' button and press 'W.' The Android phone resets itself to factory settings, wiping any saved variables from memory. This includes apps, updates and saved contacts.
