How to Get the Web From My Android to My Laptop



Tethering

1. Plug the smaller connector end of your phone's USB data cable into the phone and plug the other end into a USB port on your laptop. Navigate away from the USB Connected screen when it appears on your phone.

2. Go to 'Settings' on your phone and open 'Wireless & networks.' Tap 'Tethering & Portable Hotspot' to set up Internet sharing between your phone and laptop.

3. Tap 'USB tethering' to tether your phone to your laptop. You must leave your phone plugged into your laptop to maintain your laptop's connection to the Internet.

4. Plug the smaller connector end of your phone's USB data cable into the phone and plug the other end into a USB port on your laptop. Navigate away from the USB Connected screen when it appears on your phone.

5. Go to 'Settings' on your phone and open 'Wireless & networks.' Tap 'Portable Wi-Fi hotspot' to share Internet between your laptop and phone if you do not want to leave the phone plugged into the laptop.

6. Tap 'Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings' and go to 'Configure Wi-Fi hotspot' to set up security settings for your phone's Wi-Fi network. Tap the drop-down menu under Security and select 'WPA2 PSK.' Highlight the Password field and enter a password. Tap 'Save' to save your settings and exit the menu.

7. Click the network icon on the Windows task bar on your laptop and select 'Connect or Disconnect' to see your Android in the list of available networks. Double-click 'AndroidAP' to connect to your Android's Wi-Fi. Enter the password you set up as the security key and click 'Connect' to finish connecting.
