ATT Backflip Specs
Screen and Battery
The Backflip has an LCD display screen that is 3.1 inches when measured diagonally. Images show up at a 320-by-480-pixel resolution. The phone has 18-bit color depth so that it can display up to 262,000 different colors. The Backflip features a lithium ion battery with a capacity of 1,400 mAh (milliamp hours). Milliamp hours measure a battery's longevity before needing a recharge. The battery lasts up to six hours of usage or 13 days on standby mode.
Storage and System
The Backflip comes with 256 megabytes of internal storage, though a microSD memory card slot lets you expand that number to up to 32 gigabytes. Since the phone has so much memory space, you can enter as many phone book contacts as you want with multiple numbers for each. The Backflip uses the Android 1.5 operating system created by Google. The phone features a 528 MHz ARM 11 processor and a chip set made by Qualcomm.
Media
The Backflip has a 5.0 megapixel digital camera with automatic focus to make sure your photos turn out clearly. The LED flash is ideal for dim lighting and geo tagging is for uploading photos to social networking sites. The photos are taken at a maximum resolution of 2,560 pixels by 1,920 pixels. The Android media player plays MP3, eAAC+, WAV and WMA9 audio files. The player also supports MP4, H.264, H.263 and WMV9 video files.
Internet and Other Features
The phone connects to GPRS networks at speeds between 32 kilobytes per second and 48 kbps. On the Class 12 Edge network, the phone reaches speeds of 236.8 kbps. The Backflip gets to 7.2 megabytes per second on AT&T's 3G network. The phone features an organizational calendar for inputting important dates, anniversaries and appointments. The document viewer is for looking at files created in Microsoft Office programs. Google Maps functionality is also important.
