How to Unzip a Password Protected Zip File
1. Save the zipped file into an easily accessible directory on your computer such as the desktop or your My Documents folder.
2. Double-click on the file to access it with the built-in zip program. Open the “File” menu at the top of the zip program and then choose “Extract All” from the pull-down menu to open the Extraction Wizard window.
3. Click the “Next” button to open a file explorer window. Pick a directory location by browsing through your hard drive to extract the password-protected file. Choose the default location to extract the contents of the protected file into a sub-directory labeled with the file name.
4. Click the “Next” button to choose the location to extract the data. Type the password for the file in the prompted window, and then click the “OK” button to extract the file into the chosen directory.
5. Click the “Finish” button to close the zip program. Access the extracted data just like any other data on your hard drive.
