Alternatives to the iPhone Passcode Lock

AndroidLock

AndroidLock brings the pattern lock screen of Android devices to your iPhone. Instead of entering the numeric passcode, you create a pattern based on a grid of dots. To unlock your phone, you must enter the correct pattern with your finger. Entering the correct pattern will show the full pattern and then unlock your iPhone so you can make calls or access apps. If you have jailbroken your iPhone and are using the Cydia package installer, you can download AndroidLock from Cydia's repositories.

RecognizeMe

Rather than entering a passcode or even using gestures, you can use the front-facing camera on your iPhone to perform a facial scan and act as a biometric lock on your iPhone. This modification is also available in Cydia, for jailbroken iPhones.

LockGestures

LockGestures not only allows you to unlock your jailbroken iPhone with gestures but offers advanced functions. You can specify specific gestures to open apps on your iPhone from the lockscreen. This modification, which is available through Cydia, uses multitouch gestures to complete nine different actions, including adjusting your iPhone's screen brightness and playing the next song on your playlist. This tweak is available for free.

Move LockScreen

Move LockScreen is a clever lockscreen alternative that requires neither a password nor a pre-assigned gesture. Rather, you simply press and hold a corner of your lock screen and move the screen itself. This locking mechanism is simple to use, even in the dark or when you are tired. However, its use is not obvious so it deters others from accessing your iPhone. You can download Move LockScreen through Cydia.
