How to Email or Save a Yahoo Chat on Android

Copy and paste

1. Press and hold your finger on the Yahoo chat text to highlight it, then select 'Copy.' The chat text will save to your Android device's clipboard. This method is acceptable if you simply want to save the chat for review at a later date.

2. Launch your notes, text or word processing application. Open a new document, then press and hold your finger on the screen. A menu will appear. Select 'Paste.' The text of the Yahoo chat will paste into the document. Save the document, then return to the Android home screen.

3. Email the text file to yourself through the Email app to ensure you have a backup.

4. Download an Android screenshot application, such as Screenshot It or Screenshot. Screenshot It will run on any Android device, while Screenshot only works on devices that have been rooted.

5. Tap the icon of the screenshot program to launch it. Press the Home button to return to the home screen.

6. Open Yahoo Chat and scroll to the part of the chat you want to save. Press the screenshot app's icon located at the top of the device, or shake the device, depending on which app you're using. A screenshot will be taken and saved to your device's 'Photos' folder. Repeat for all parts of the chat you want to save.

7. Attach the screenshot to an email using the Email app.
