How to Set Up a Wi
Hotspot Setup
1. Press the 'Home' button or the 'End Call' button on your phone to go to the 'Home' screen.
2. Press the 'Menu' button. Most Android phones indicate this button by four horizontal lines, which indicate lines of text; some Android phones just use the word 'Menu.'
3. Select 'Settings,' 'Wireless & networks,' 'Tethering & portable hotspot' and then 'Configure Wi-Fi hotspot.'
4. Type in a name for your Wi-Fi hotspot in the 'SSID' text box. You can name the network anything you want or you can just use the default name.
5. Choose a security type under the 'Security' option. The 'WPA2' option provides the best security, and if you choose that you'll need to type in a password at least 8 characters long. You could choose 'none' or 'open,' which doesn't require a password, but anyone can log onto that Wi-Fi network if you do so, which is a security risk.
6. Select 'Save.'

7. Go back to the 'Home' screen.
8. Press the 'Menu' button.
9. Select 'Settings,' 'Wireless & Networks' and then 'Tethering & Portable Hotspot.'
10. Select 'Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot' to enable your Wi-Fi network. You only have to set up the network once; after that just perform this step to turn it off or on.
