How to Get Root Access in the Fascinate 3G

1. Press the 'Menu' button from the main screen on the Fascinate 3G and tap 'Settings.'

2. Touch 'Applications' and check the box labeled 'Unknown sources.' The phone will display a warning message about installing unknown apps. Touch 'OK' and press the 'Home' button.

3. Open the application screen on the Fascinate 3G and touch 'Internet.'

4. Go to 'forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953' in the Android browser. The browser will load a page for the XDA Developers forum called [APP] z4root.

5. Scroll to the bottom of the first post and touch 'z4root.1.3.0.apk.' If the phone prompts you to confirm, select 'Yes.'

6. Press the 'Home' button and open the application screen. Touch 'z4root' and tap 'Root.'
