How to Install Froyo on a Hero

1. Plug your HTC Hero phone into the AC wall adapter to charge it. This prevents the Hero’s battery from running down and potentially corrupting the Froyo installation.

2. Unlock your HTC Hero by typing in your device’s password when applicable and then press the “Menu” button on your HTC Hero.

3. Tap the “Settings” icon that shows up on your HTC Hero’s screen.

4. Navigate down the screen and then tap the “About phone” icon on the Hero.

5. Tap the “System updates” icon on your Hero and then tap the “HTC software update” icon.

6. Tap the “Check now” icon to search for the Froyo update.

7. Tap “Install now” to begin installing Froyo on your HTC Hero. Allow the installation process to complete. A message stating that the update is complete will show up on your screen once Froyo is successfully installed on your HTC Hero.
