How to Convert .Jar to .Mobi

Calibre

1. Modify how your computer deals with file extensions. On Windows, click 'Start,' then click 'Control Panel,' 'Appearances and Personalization' and 'Folder Options.' Click the 'View' tab. Under 'Advanced Settings' click on 'Hide extensions for known file types' and clear the check-mark. Click 'OK.' Apple OS 9 or later comes equipped with Automator and is already set to change file extensions. If you do not have Automator, download it from Apple.

2. Navigate to the folder containing the .jar file you wish to convert. Rename the file, changing the .jar extension to .zip, and then press 'Enter.' Extract the .zip file and open the documents inside, if they are in an eBook or document format you're ready to convert. If they're in another format, you'll need to change them to a .doc, .rtf or .txt format.

3. Download and install Calibre. Open the program and click the 'Add books' button. Select your new .zip folder and click 'Open.' Calibre will automatically add all of the documents contained in the archive. Use the 'Edit metadata' button to download social meta and alternative book covers. Click the 'Convert books' button, select the output format as .mobi, then click 'OK.'

Online File Conversion

4. Rename your .jar file to a .zip file and extract the files into a folder.

5. Open an online file converter, such as DocsPal, and then upload your files. If your files are not already document or eBook files, change them to a supported format by renaming the file extension.

6. Select the output format as .mobi and then click the 'Send download link to my email' option. Click the 'Convert' button. Download the file when the conversion is complete.
