I Forgot My Android Gmail Login

Online Password Reset

When your Android Gmail account is created on your phone, you select a security question to use in case you forget your password. You can access the account online at Gmail.com and reset your password. Click “Can't Access Your Account” on the Gmail login home page and enter your user name. You will be prompted to answer your security question and select a new password. You can enter the new password on your phone after receiving confirmation of the change.

Phone Reset

If you remember your Gmail user name, you can also reset your password from your Android mobile phone. Touch “Forgot Password” when you are prompted to enter your login information. Enter your user name and touch “Next.” Enter the answer for your security question in the indicated field using the phone's onscreen keypad. After the answer is accepted, you can select a new password to use for the account.

Forgotten User Name

You can retrieve the user name for your account on a computer if you are unable to remember it. Access Gmail.com and click “Can't Access Your Account.” Click “Forgot Your Username” and enter the recovery email address you enter when you set up your account. If you no longer have access to the email account or you are unable to remember the address, you cannot retrieve your user name. Your user name will be sent in an email to the recovery email address.

New Account

If you are unable to retrieve your user name or password, you will need to create a new account. You can set up the account online or on your phone. During setup, it is important to enter an alternative email address for future recovery of your account information. If you remember your login information in the future, you can add the account to your phone through either the Gmail application or through “Accounts and Sync” in the settings menu.
