How to Transfer Contacts From a Computer to an Android
Transfer Contacts
1. Plug the provided USB cord into the USB port on your phone and into a free USB port on your computer.
2. Touch your finger to the notifications panel at the top of the Android device's screen and drag it down to reveal the 'USB connected' notification.
3. Tap 'USB connected.'
4. Tap 'Turn on USB storage.'
5. Click the 'Start' button on you computer and select 'Computer.'
6. Double-click on your phone, which is now displayed as a drive in the 'Computer' window.
7. Drag and drop the VCard files into your phone. For your own convenience, you may want to create a unique folder, like 'Contacts import,' on your phone so that the VCard files aren't mixed up with all the other folders and files on your phone. Even if you don't create this folder, your Android device will have no problem locating the VCard files.
8. Tap 'Turn off USB storage' on your phone after the transfer is complete. You can remove the cord or leave it in place if you prefer.
Import Contacts
9. Open the contacts section of your Android device.
10. Press the 'Menu' button, which usually has the image of four horizontal lines on it or simply says the word 'menu.'
11. Tap 'Import/Export,' and then tap 'Import from SD card' or 'Import from USB storage.' Your exact model will determine which option you see.
12. Tap the account you want to import the contacts to, if necessary. If you only have one account on your phone, you will not be prompted to make this selection.
13. Select 'Import one vCard file,' 'Import multiple vCard files' or 'Import all vCard files,' depending on your preference. If you choose to import just one or to import multiple vCard files, your phone will prompt you to select one or more files to import; then tap 'OK.'
14. Wait for a moment as your contacts are imported.
