How to Earn Tech Points in Virtual Villagers 2

1. The game starts with two adults and one teenager. Villagers must be at least 14 years old to start working and earning tech points. To find the best villager for the research job, click on a villager, and then click on the detail button to the right of their name.

2. Look at the Research skill bar under the Skills section on the right side of the screen. If part of the bar is filled in blue, that villager is pre-determined to build the Research skill. View other villager details by clicking on the arrow button underneath the villager picture.

3. Once you find the villager with the Research skill preference, click “Done” on the lower left corner of the screen. The game will immediately return to the village with this villager highlighted in a circle.

4. Drag the villager to the Research table located in the middle of the island. The tutorial will also pinpoint the location.

5. Watch for “understanding.” If the villager walks away and shakes his/her head, pick up the villager and keep dragging it onto the table until the skill is learned and performed automatically.

6. Drag additional villagers to the Research table once they are old enough to continue earning tech points.

7. Villager children can also earn tech points by collecting butterflies, shells, beetles, and pebbles. Collectables appear randomly throughout the game and disappear if not picked up right away. Gathering a piece the first time adds the item to the game collection, but all duplicate gatherings earn tech points.
