How to Connect an iPad to Wi

1. Root your Android phone. This process is required before you will be able to create a Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone. It can be done in many different ways. One option is to download a program such as SuperOneClick to your computer. Then you will connect the Android to your computer with a USB cable. You then use the software to complete the rooting process on your phone.

2. Visit the Android Market by pressing the 'Android Market' icon on your phone. Locate the Barnacle WiFi Tether application by typing its name in the search box. Enter your account information and then download the app to your phone. The program itself is free to install. You also have the option of buying a widget for the program for $1.99 to help with the installation.

3. Open the Barnacle application and press the 'Settings' button to enter the Settings menu. Once in the Settings menu, press the 'SSID' option to name the network that you want to create.

4. Press the 'Wireless Security' selection and then press the button to enable WEP. Once you have done this, choose a password for your network. Click on the 'WAN' and 'LAN' options in the Settings menu. Delete anything in either text box. Once you have done this, click on the 'Back' arrow and select 'Start.'

5. Press the icon for an application on your iPad that uses the Internet, such as Safari. You will be prompted to choose a Wi-Fi network to use. Look at the list of available networks and then press the name of the one that you created. Then enter the password that you used earlier. Once you do this, the iPad will be connected to the wireless network created by your Android phone.
