How to Control iTunes From Android



Connect to the Local Wireless Network

1. Press the 'Home' button on your Android device. Press the 'Menu' button and then tap 'Settings.'

2. Tap 'Wireless & Networks,' then tap 'Wi-Fi Settings.'

3. Tap the local wireless network that your computer with iTunes uses and enter the security credentials, if required.

Enable iTunes Sharing

4. Launch iTunes on your computer. Click 'Edit' and select 'Preferences.'

5. Click the 'Sharing' tab and click the radio button beside 'Share entire library.'

6. Click 'OK' to close the 'Preferences' dialog.

Remote for iTunes

7. Tap the 'Market' icon on your Android home screen. Tap 'Search' and enter 'Remote for Android' as your query.

8. Select 'Remote for iTunes' from the search results. Tap the price and then tap 'OK' to install the app. The app costs $4.99 as of the time of publication.

9. Press the 'Home' button, then tap the app drawer icon. Tap the 'Remote for iTunes' icon.

10. Launch iTunes on your computer. Click 'Remote for iTunes' in the 'Devices' section of the left sidebar. This connects iTunes to your Android and broadcasts a four-digit code to the device.

11. Enter the four-digit code from the device into the appropriate text field in iTunes, then click 'OK.' This pairs your Android with iTunes.

12. Tap the 'Artists,' 'Albums,' 'Playlists,' or 'DJ' tabs to browse your music collection. Tap a song to begin playback. Use the multimedia controls to adjust the volume, pause the song or move backward or forward in the playlist.

13. Tap the 'Market' icon on your Android home screen. Tap 'Search' and enter 'TunesRemote' as your query.

14. Select 'TunesRemote' from the search results. Tap 'Install' and tap 'OK.'

15. Press the 'Home' button and tap the app drawer icon. Tap the 'TunesRemote' icon.

16. Launch iTunes on your computer. Click 'TunesRemote' in the 'Devices' section of the sidebar. This connects iTunes to your Android and broadcast a four-digit code to the device.
