Reset Via Hardware
1. Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant phone if possible. If you can’t turn the phone off, hold the phone with the back facing you and the bottom pointing up, then locate the cover groove on the bottom, insert your finger or thumbnail into the groove and pry the cover away. Lift the battery out of its compartment, wait five seconds, slide the battery back into the compartment and snap the cover back on the phone.
2. Press and hold the “Volume” buttons on the left side of your phone. Simultaneously press and hold the “Power” button until the screen powers on and displays several options. Release the “Volume” and “Power” buttons.
3. Push the “Volume Down” button to highlight “Delete All User Data,' then push “Power” to begin the reset process.
4. Highlight and select “Yes - Delete All User Data” to confirm the reset, then wait. When you see “Delete All Cache Data” on the screen, highlight and select the option, and then wait.
5. Select “Reboot System Now” when it appears on the screen to restart your phone.
