How to Turn Your Android Phone Into a Webcam



1. Type the URL address 'market.android.com' in the search field on your Web browser. Press the 'Search' button. Click on the 'Gmail' hyperlink located near the top of the Web page.

2. Enter your Gmail user account information to log in to Android Market's website. Type in your user name in the 'Username' field. Enter your password in the 'Password' field and click the 'Sign In' button.

3. Type in the keyword 'webcam apps' in the search field located near the top of Android Market's homepage. Press the 'Search' button. You will see a list of webcam applications on the Web page that you can install on your Android phone.

4. Scroll down the list of webcam applications and determine which one that you want to use, then click on the name of the webcam application. Click the 'Overview' tab button to read Description information about the webcam application, and click the 'Review' tab button if you also want to read consumer reviews about the webcam application.

5. Click the 'Install' button when you're ready to download the webcam application of your choice. Follow the application's installation instructions. For example, IP Web Cam, WO Webcam Lite, and DroidCam Wireless Webcam are free applications that allow you to turn your Android phone into a surveillance camera.

6. Click the webcam icon to launch the application and enable Wi-Fi on your Android phone. Keep in mind that various third-party wireless webcam applications start up information and instructions can vary.

7. Go to the Settings option and type the IP address for your Android phone server. Check to make certain that the IP address appears in the main window and does not show dull or invalid digits like '0.0.0.0.'

8. Select an image size from the 'Video Preference' screen and then, adjust the image quality. Press the 'Start Server' or 'Activate' button when you're done. You will be prompted that your Android phone's server is enabled.
