How to Scan Fax With an Android Phone

1. Open Android Market on your phone. If you don't have a Market shortcut on your home screen, tap 'Applications' and 'Market' to launch it.

2. Search for a scanning application, such as DocScanner, Scan to PDF or Droid Scan Pro. Each application uses the camera on the phone to create an image of your document, suitable for sending to an application like Google Documents or sending as a fax. Install the application by tapping 'Install' and 'OK.'

3. Search for a faxing application, such as Mobile Fax or ScanR. Some faxing applications include a scanning camera feature, so you may not even need to download a separate scanning app on your Android phone. Tap 'Install' and 'Yes' when selecting an application from the Market.

4. Open the scanning application you installed. Point your phone's camera at the document you're scanning. Follow the on-screen instructions of the application to create the scanned image. Open your fax application or go to the fax section in your all-in-one application. Enter the fax number to which you wish to send the document. The application faxes the image over to the indicated fax machine.
