How to Make Smart Keyboard Pro Work on Android Phone

Downloads

1. Open the 'Android Market' app. You can find it by tapping the 'Applications' option at the 'Home' screen and then tapping 'Market.'

2. Search for 'Smart Keyboard.' You can either buy the full version or use the free trial, which has all the same features but includes a 'nag' screen that pops up occasionally to remind you that your version is not the full version.

3. Tap the button below either 'Buy' or 'Install,' depending on which version you prefer. If you buy the full version, follow the prompts to pay for the app. If you get the free version, tap 'Install' and then 'OK' to proceed.

4. Download and install the 'English for Smart Keyboard' app as well. You can search for this specifically or just scroll down the list of results from your earlier search to find it. This app is required to make full use of the 'Smart Keyboard' features.

5. Wait for your device to finish downloading and installing the 'Smart Keyboard' app and its dictionary. Your Android device will display status updates for these apps in the 'Notification bar' at the top of the screen.

Enabling Smart Keyboard

6. Go to the 'Home' screen by pressing the 'Home' button on your device.

7. Press the 'Menu' button and select 'Settings,' then 'Language & keyboard,' and finally the first 'Smart Keyboard' option. This first option allows you to turn on 'Smart Keyboard'; the second allows you to adjust the settings.

8. Tap 'OK' to the prompt that appears.

9. Tap the second 'Smart Keyboard' option to configure the keyboard just the way you want. You can change the language, adjust the keyboard's skin, make the keyboard transparent, change the vibrate settings, and more. You may want to experiment a bit with the keyboard before changing this so that you can tweak it to work best for you.

Change Input Method

10. Open any app that allows you to type text. You can use an email app, an Internet browser, or a note-taking app.

11. Press and hold your finger on a text-entry section of the app. A list of options will appear.

12. Tap 'Input method.'

13. Tap the 'Smart Keyboard' option. The 'Smart Keyboard' will now be your default keyboard whenever you enter text.
