About the Caveman Diet
The caveman diet was created by Dr. Ben Balzer based on his years of research treating individuals with diet-related conditions. Following the Low-Carb Diet
The caveman diet is a low-carb and carb-restricted diet. This means that you do not have to stay below a target number of carbs each day, but you must refrain from eating certain types of carbs.
On the cavemen diet, you will base your nutrition around the following: meat, fish, chicken, eggs, nuts (excepting cashews and peanuts), berries, fruits and vegetables. Abstain from the following food types: grains, beans, potatoes, dairy, sugar and added salt. That is the diet. It is a very basic way to stay low-carb and fulfill your health-related goals while teaching yourself a new way to view the world of food.
Considerations
Of course, in following the caveman diet you might fall victim to temptation and eat one of the prohibited foods. This is not ideal, but it is also not entirely unexpected. If you fall off the wagon, the most important thing to do is to immediately resume the plan with your next meal. Do not let one 'cheat' meal spiral into complete abandonment of the system. Just resume the plan as scheduled and try not to make the same mistake again.
While the diet works well for your fat-loss endeavors, it works even better as a year-round system of eating. If you have the time, energy, and willpower to make a permanent change, the caveman diet might reward you with sustained health.
