How to Transfer Phone Numbers on an Android to Gmail

Add Gmail

1. Press the Home button on your Android phone, then press the Menu button.

2. Tap 'Accounts,' then tap the 'Add Accounts' button on the bottom of the screen.

3. Tap 'Google' on the 'Add an Account' screen, then enter your Gmail username and password into the appropriate fields. Click 'Sign In' or 'Create Account.'

4. Press the Home button, then the Menu button.

5. Tap 'Accounts,' then select the checkboxes next to 'Background Data' and 'Auto-sync.' Both boxes must be checked for automatic synchronization to occur if there is a change in the contacts on either Gmail or the phone.

6. Tap your Gmail account on the 'Accounts' screen.

7. Press the Menu button, then tap 'Sync Now.' The phone numbers on your Android phone are transferred to Gmail.
