How to Keep the SMS Order When Restoring an Android



1. Download the Backup and Restore Application from Android's Market on the phone's touchscreen.

2. Access the Restore application by pressing its icon on the Android phone.

3. Follow the directions within the application. Allow the phone to download all the SMS messages to the SD (Secure Digital) card. The SD card typically resides within the Android smartphone's battery area.

4. Remove the SD card once the application finishes downloading the SMS messages. Place the SD card into a SD card reader. Attach the reader to a computer using a USB cable.

5. Access the SD card's data through the computer. Verify that all SMS messages are available for viewing. Save the SMS messages to the computer's hard drive for added security.

6. Place the SD card back into the Android phone. Perform the needed restoration process on the Android phone.

7. Access the SD card directory through the Android once the restore process has finished.

8. Download the SMS messages back into the Android's message center.

9. Verify that the SMS order remains correct from before the restoration procedure.
