How to Add a Directory on an Android Phone
From Phone
1. Tap 'Applications' from the Android homepage and tap 'My Files' to open the Android file explorer.
2. Tap the menu button, which looks like a rectangle with two lines in it, and tap 'Create Folder.'
3. Type a name for the folder when prompted and click 'OK.' The folder will now be created in the root directory of your Android's SD card.
4. Tap a folder in the File Manager to open it. Create a new folder while inside to create a subdirectory.
From Computer
5. Connect your Android phone to a computer using a USB cable.
6. Tap your notification bar at the top of the Android screen and slide your finger down to open the notification panel. Tap 'USB Connected' and tap 'Mount' to mount your SD card. This makes its contents visible to your computer's operating system.
7. Click 'Start' from the Windows desktop and click 'Computer.' Double-click 'Removable Drive' to open the Android SD card and view the contents.
8. Right-click the background of your SD card window, select 'New' and click 'Folder.' Type a name for the folder and hit 'Enter.' The new folder is now available to receive data.
9. Return to the 'My Computer' screen and right-click the removable drive. Click 'Eject' to unmount the SD card. It is now safe to unplug your Android Device.
