How to Disable Windows Picture Viewer
Remove the Registry Entry
1. Click 'Start' and type 'regedit' (without quotes) in the 'Start Search' box.
2. Navigate to the following registry path on the left window panel:HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT >> SystemFileAssociations >> image >> ShellEx >> ContextMenuHandlers.
3. Look in the right panel of the window. Locate the 'ShellImagePreview' key. Right-click the key and click 'Delete'.
Unregister the Tool
4. Click 'Start' and type 'cmd' in the 'Start Search' field.
5. Type 'regsvr32 /u shimgvw.dll' (without quotes) at the prompt.
6. Press 'Enter' to disable and unregister Windows Picture Viewer.
