How to Make an Android Chat

Trillian

1. Tap the 'Market' icon on your Android home screen. Press the 'Search' button, and enter 'Trillian' as your query. Select the 'Trillian' search result, and tap 'Install,' then 'Accept & Download.'

2. Press the 'Home' button, and then tap the app drawer icon. Tap the 'Trillian' icon to launch the app.

3. Tap 'Add a New Account.'

4. Tap 'Register a New Account' if you do not have a Trillian account or enter your Trillian account details and tap 'Sign In.' Select a Trillian user name, and enter your email address; then tap 'Next.' Select a password for your Trillian account and set up your seurity question; then tap 'Next' to complete account registration.

5. Press the 'Menu' button, and then tap 'Accounts.'

6. Press the 'Menu' button and then tap 'Add Account.'

7. Tap the 'Accounts' drop-down menu and select the instant messaging protocol with which you want to use your Android to chat. Enter the user name and password associated with that account, and then tap 'Add.'

8. Add additional instant messaging accounts following the same process.

9. Press the 'Back' button to return to the 'Contacts' screen. Tap an online contact to initiate a chat with that person directly from your Android device.

IM+

10. Tap the 'Market' icon on your Android home screen. Press the 'Search' button and enter 'IM+' as your query. Select the 'IM+' search result and tap 'Install'; then 'Accept & Download.'

11. Press the 'Home' button and then tap the app drawer icon. Tap the 'IM+' icon to launch the app.

12. Tap the 'Add Account' button.

13. Tap the instant messaging service with which you want to use your Android to chat. Enter the user name and password associated with that account, and then tap 'Save.'

14. Add additional instant messaging accounts following the same process.

15. Tap 'Connect All' when you have finished adding accounts.

16. Press the 'Menu' button and tap 'Contacts' to view the contact list.

17. Tap a name in the contact list to initiate a chat with that user from your Android device.

Meebo IM

18. Tap the 'Market' icon on your Android home screen. Press the 'Search' button, and enter 'Meebo' as your query. Select the 'Meebo' search result and tap 'Install'; then 'Accept & Download.'

19. Press the 'Home' button and then tap the app drawer icon. Tap the 'Meebo' icon to launch the app.

20. Tap the 'Add' button to configure a new instant messaging account.

21. Tap the 'Accounts' drop-down menu, and select the instant messaging protocol you want to use on your Android to chat. Enter your user name and password, and then tap 'Sign On.'

22. Add additional instant messaging accounts using the same process.

23. Tap 'Sign on' when you have finished adding accounts to connect to the configured instant messaging protocols.

24. Tap a contact to initiate a chat with that user from your Android device.
