How to Use an Android Phone to Control Your Whole Home Audio System

1. Locate and download the app associated with your whole home music system. For systems like the Logitech Squeezebox and the Sonos system, download the applications from the Android Market. Launch the 'Market' app from your phone and tap the magnifying glass to open the search bar. Search for the name of your music system to find the app. Note that some systems might not be in the Market, like the RedEye system. Visit the manufacturer's page from your phone to download the app.

2. Connect your phone to the Wi-Fi network at your house. Press the 'Home' button and then press 'Menu.' Tap 'Settings' on the touch screen. Press 'Wireless and Network' and then 'Wi-Fi Settings.' Tap 'Turn Wi-Fi On' and then touch the name of your Wi-Fi network in the list that appears at the bottom. If prompted, enter the password for your network.

3. Open the controller app on your Android phone. Follow the instructions on the screen to add your phone to your home audio system. For example, with the Logitech Squeezbox you need to enter your username and password. With the Sonos system you need to press and hold the 'Connect' button on the Sonos device. With the RedEye system, if the app doesn't auto-discover the system, you can specify the IP address of the RedEye device on your Wi-Fi network.
