How to use your iPhone

1. Tap 'Settings' on the iPhone home screen, and then tap 'General.'

2. Tap 'Restrictions.'

3. Tap 'Enable Restrictions.' Enter a four-digit passcode that you can use to to confirm your identity when accessing the Restrictions menu.

4. Tap the 'On' slider next to the app you want to restrict. It will change to 'Off,' indicating that the app is disabled.

5. Tap 'Location' to turn off location services altogether or for specific apps.

6. Tap 'Accounts' to select whether users of the phone can make changes to the email accounts set up on the iPhone.

7. Tap the 'On' next to In-App Purchases to toggle the ability to purchase items within an application. Touch 'Music & Podcasts' to allow (or disallow) music and podcasts containing explicit language.

8. Tap 'Music,' 'TV Shows' or 'Apps' to select an appropriate ratings limit for your child. You can restrict the iPhone from playing R-rated movies, or shows rated TV-MA, for example.

9. Toggle the ability to play multiplayer games or add friends in Game Center by tapping the slider next to those options.

10. Press the 'Home' button to exit the Settings menu when you are finished. The new settings are effective immediately.
