How to Check the Integrity of an Android SD Card
1. Connect your Android device to your computer using the USB cable that comes with it. If this is the first time you've connected the two, your computer will take a few moments to locate and install the drivers.
2. Unlock your Android device, then touch the top of the screen and drag your finger to the bottom. This opens the Notifications area. Touch the 'USB Connected' notification.
3. Press 'Mount' or 'USB Mass Storage' depending on your version of Android. Wait for your computer to recognize the SD card as an external drive.
4. Click 'Start' on your computer, then click 'Computer.' Right-click on the icon for your Android. It will look like an external hard drive and will have a letter name, for example 'F:'. Select 'Properties,' then click on the 'Tools' tab.
5. Click 'Check Now' under 'Error Checking,' then click 'Start.' Depending on the size of your SD card this may take several minutes.
