How to Modify an Android Proximity Sensor



1. Tap the 'Market' application icon on the Android device to launch the Market. Tap the 'Search' icon and type 'Application Installer' in the space provided. Tap the 'Application Installer' option in the list of search results and tap the 'Install' button to install the application.

2. Open a Web browser on your computer and navigate to the DHD Proximity Sensor Recalibrator download site.. Click the download link to download the application's install file.

3. Connect you Android device to the computer via the USB connection cable that came with the device. Tap the USB icon on the Android's scree, followed by the 'Disk Mode' option to place the device in disk mode.

4. Click the 'Stat' button in the computer's taskbar and select the 'Computer' option. Double-click the Android's removable storage device icon to view its root folder.

5. Drag the APK file you downloaded in the second step into the device's root folder. Right-click on the Android's removable storage device icon and select the 'Eject' option to eject the device from the computer.

6. Tap the 'Application Installer' application icon on the Android device to launch the application. Tap the APK file you placed on the device in the previous step to install the application onto the Android device.

7. Tap the 'DHD Proximity Sensor Recalibrator' application icon to launch the application. Tap the toggle button beneath the 'Proximity sensor monitor' heading to enable the feature.

8. Adjust the proximity monitor's low threshold and high threshold to your liking with the 'Low Threshold' and 'High Threshold' sliders. When you are finished, press the 'Back' button to exit the application and save the changes.
