How to Unlock an HSDPA Modem

1. Contact your provider to see if the HSDPA modem you possess is compatible with their network. This is the essential first step; if you are using an incompatible modem there will be no point in proceeding any further, so first verify that the modem you have is compatible.

2. Connect the modem to the computer's USB port and install all necessary software drivers if you have not done so. Software drivers may be dependent on the provider being used for Internet service, so you may need to obtain software drivers directly from the new provider before proceeding.

3. Contact the new mobile Internet provider and have the HSDPA modem activated for use with their network. This step will vary from provider to provider, but the modem might need to be added to your account before it can access the provider's mobile network. Once active, the modem has been unlocked and you can continue to use it for mobile Internet access.
