How to Install a CAB File to a Mobile



1. Plug the USB connector cable into the phone and then into a free USB port on the computer, or set the mobile device in the cradle while it is connected to the computer. The computer will find and register the mobile device and ActiveSync will initiate.

2. Right-click Windows' Start button and click 'Explore' to open Windows Explorer.

3. Navigate to the CAB file in Windows Explorer and right-click on the file. Select 'Copy.' Click on the desktop, right-click and select 'Paste' to copy the CAB file to the desktop.

4. Click the ActiveSync icon in the system tray located at the bottom-right corner of the Windows task bar. ActiveSync will open.

5. Click the 'Explore' link in the ActiveSync window to open the file explorer.

6. Drag the CAB file from the desktop and drop the file into the root drive of the mobile device using the ActiveSync file explorer.

7. Unplug the mobile device from the computer.

8. Tap 'Start' on the Windows Mobile device, and then tap 'My Documents.' The CAB file will be listed at the bottom of the list in My Documents.

9. Double-tap the CAB file to start the installation.

10. Follow any onscreen prompts to finish the installation.

11. Click 'Finish,' if required, when the application has finished installing. The CAB file now will be installed on the mobile device.
