How to Learn Norwegian for Free

1. Use the Norwegian 101 website (see Resources below) to learn Norwegian for free. Scroll down the homepage until you see the lesson links on the left side of the page. Click on of these links and that lesson will open. When you're done, you can click the next link to move on to the next Norwegian lesson.

2. Visit the Sons of Norway Learn Norwegian website (see Resources below). This website offers over 30 different lessons on conversational Norwegian. Individuals new to Norwegian should click the 'The Norwegian Alphabet' link directly above the lessons before clicking any of the lessons links. From there, you should click the lesson links in order. Doing so will allow you to make progress and retain knowledge while learning Norwegian for free.

3. Learn Norwegian for free using the Norwoods website (see Resources below). You can find text, audio and even video lessons on this site. Each chapter lesson on the left side of the page can also be downloaded as a ZIP file, allowing you to learn Norwegian for free when you cannot access the Internet. To begin, click on the 'Chapter 1' link on the left side of the screen.

4. Log onto the Norwegian portion of the 'Language on the Net' website. Similar to the other websites listed, Language on the Net lists Norwegian lesson links on the left side of the page. What makes this website different is that the lessons are posted in both English and Norwegian. Language on the Net also offers audio lessons along with standard text language lessons. Click the 'alfabetet' link on the left side of the screen to start learning Norwegian for free on Language on the Net.
