How to Have Facebook Chat on Android

1. Tap the 'Market' icon on your Android's Home screen.

2. Press the 'Search' button on your device and enter 'Facebook' as your query.

3. Select 'Facebook for Android' from the search results.

4. Tap 'Free' and then 'OK' to install the Facebook app on your device.

5. Tap the 'Facebook' icon located in your Android app drawer.

6. Enter your Facebook account credentials and tap 'Login.'

7. Tap the 'Chat' icon.

8. Select a contact from the 'Available' section to initiate a chat conversation. Continue a conversation with a friend by selecting her name from the 'Active Conversations' section.

10. Press the 'Search' button on your device and enter 'Facebook' as your query.

11. Select 'Facebook Messenger' from the search results.

12. Tap 'Free' and 'OK' to install the Facebook Messenger app on your device.

13. Tap the 'Facebook Messenger' icon located in your Android app drawer.

14. Enter your Facebook account credentials and tap 'Login.'

15. Select a contact to initiate a chat conversation. Depending on the contact's availability, the message is sent through chat, email or SMS.
