Email Setup on the LG Verizon Android Phone

Personal Email Accounts

LG's Android 'Email' application has settings for many personal email providers, including Gmail, Yahoo and Windows Live. Touch the 'Email' icon on your LG's screen to begin. After accepting the terms and conditions, touch the 'Menu' key and select 'Add Account.' Touch the name of your provider on the list if prompted, then enter your email address and password. The email application will attempt to validate your account and retrieve settings automatically. If setup is successful, you can enter an account name and finish setup. Otherwise, you'll need to enter settings manually.

Manually Entering Settings

If you touched the 'Other' option on the provider screen or received an error after entering your email address and password, you'll be prompted to enter some settings manually. You can obtain these settings from your service provider. On the incoming server settings screen, type in the user name, password, server and port number. Tap 'Next,' then enter the port, security type and user name for the outgoing server settings. Tap 'Next,' then wait as the Email application confirms the settings you've entered. Upon successful setup, you'll be prompted to enter your email display name.

Corporate Email Accounts

You can link one Microsoft Exchange email account to your device, giving you access to your work email. Touch the 'Email' icon, then press the 'Menu' button and choose 'Add Account.' Select the 'Microsoft Exchange' option from the list of providers, then enter your email address and user name. Scroll down the page and enter your password, domain and server address. Touch 'Next.' Choose to synchronize your Exchange contacts and calendar by selecting the options on the next page. Touch 'Next,' then enter your account display name and name to finish setup. You can obtain your account details from your corporate account administrator.

Removing an Account

You can have multiple accounts set up on your device. To view all mail, open the 'Email' application. If you've added an account in error or are no longer using an account you've added, deleting it is simple. Touch 'Email,' then touch the 'Menu' key. Touch 'Accounts.' A list of your email accounts appears. Touch and hold the name of the account you wish to remove. A menu will open. Touch 'Remove Account.' Touch OK to confirm your selection.
