How to Open RAR Files



IZArc

1. Perform the extraction with IZArc. It is a free program that can extract several different types of archives, including RAR files. Download and install the software.

2. Run the program, then open the “File” menu and select “Open Archive.” Alternatively, click the blue “Open” folder icon. When the window opens, browse to find your file, then click “Open.”

3. Select “Actions” from the menu and click “Extract,” or select the blue “Extract” icon. When the prompt window opens, select the “Extract” button to accept the default folder. The files will be extracted to the same directory the archive is in.

4. Perform the extraction with Free RAR Extract Frog. The program can do the extraction using methods such as drag and drop.

5. Download and install the software. Run the program, then browse your C drive and locate the file you wish to decompress.

6. Click once on your file, and drag it onto the software’s open window. A confirmation window will open. Click the “OK” button, and the file will be extracted to the same folder as the archive. The confirmation window will close after the procedure is finished.

WinRAR

7. Decompress the archive with WinRAR. It is low cost and has a free trial period. First, download and install the software.

8. Run the program, then select “File” and “Open Archive” from the menu. When the “Find Archive” window opens, browse to find your file, then click the “Open” button.

9. Choose “Commands” then “Extract to the Specified Folder,” or click the “Extract To” icon. Accept the “Destination Path” and click “Display.” The program will create a new folder and extract your files into it.
