How to Make Layered Wallpaper for an Android

1. Open your image editor, such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, on your computer and select “New” from the “File” menu. Type in the desired dimensions for the image, for example, 640 x 480 pixels, and click “OK” to create the image. Alternatively -- if you already have a wallpaper image that you want to add layers to -- you can right-click on the image and select “Open with” to open it in your image editor.

2. Go to the “Layer” menu in the menu bar and select “New” to insert a new layer into the image. A dialog box will open that will allow you to choose the appearance and style for the new layer. If you want to add other images to your wallpaper image as separate layers, open them in your image editor and then click and drag them onto the wallpaper image to insert them. They will be inserted as separate layers.

3. Select the desired layer from the “Layers” pane in your image editor and use the toolbar to make the desired modifications/enhancements to it. Select the “Move” tool and then click and drag the layer to reposition it in your wallpaper image. Click the “Save” button in the “File” menu when you are done to save your layered wallpaper image; it is now ready to use on your Android phone.

4. Connect your Android phone to your computer via a USB cable or insert its memory card into your computer’s memory card reader. Click and drag your layered wallpaper file into to your Android folder to copy it to your Android phone. Disconnect the USB cable or memory card and, if applicable, insert the memory card back into your phone.

5. Go to the “Media” section of your Android, select “Photos” and click on the layered image you created. Select the “Set as Wallpaper” option to set your layered wallpaper image as the wallpaper for your Android phone.
