How to Get the Amazon App Store on the Droid
1. Navigate to amazon.com, and then hover over the 'Appstore for Android' button from the left-hand side and click the 'Apps' option from the pop-out menu.
2. Enter your mobile phone number in the 'Get Started' box on the right-hand side of the next screen, and then click the 'Go' button. A text message with a download link is sent to your Motorola Droid phone.
3. View the text message you received from Amazon, which usually arrives within a few minutes or less. Click the download link in the message. The installation file downloads immediately to your device.
4. Open the notifications bar by tapping it and sliding your finger down. Click the 'Amazon_Appstore.apk' file once and click the 'Install' button on the next screen. It may take a few moments to install.
5. Tap the 'Open' button on the next screen to launch the Amazon Appstore on your Android device. You're prompted to sign in with your Amazon login credentials, which are your email address and password you use at Amazon's online site.
