How to Hide Files on Your Android
1. Open the Web browser on your Android phone and type 'market.andriod.com' in the search field. Tap the 'Search' button (the magnifying glass icon). Tap on the 'Gmail' hyperlink and enter your email username in the Username field. Enter your password in the Password field and tap the 'Sign In' button.
2. Enter the keywords 'Hide Pictures' or 'Hide Apps' to locate a third-party privacy-protection application that will hide files located in the default gallery on your Android phone. Tap the 'Search' button.
3. Scroll down the list of privacy-protecting applications until you see one that you want to use on your Android phone. Gallery Lock Pro, Photo Vault, Hide It and Hide My Stuff are several privacy applications that store your files in a private and hidden folder on your phone.
4. Tap the 'Buy' button if a price is listed for the application that you want to download. Be sure to have your credit card information available. Follow the on-screen instructions for making a purchase.
5. Tap the 'Install' button to download the application. Tap the 'OK' button to confirm that you want to proceed with the installation. Follow the on-screen instructions. After the installation process is complete, look for the application icon in the Application list on your phone. Tap on the icon to launch the application.
6. Follow the privacy-protecting application instructions for setting up a password. Use the application's features to select a photograph, video, file or application that you want to hide in the default gallery on your phone. For example, if you want to hide a photograph using the Photo Vault app, use the virtual keyboard to type in your password. Click on the 'Menu' button to view a photograph that you want to hide.
7. Place your finger over the photograph and press down on it for several seconds. The application automatically hides the photograph in the default gallery. To hide more than one photograph at a time, tap on the 'Menu' button and select 'Multi-Select.' Then select the photographs that you want to hide. Click the 'Menu' button again to hide, unhide or delete any photographs that you have stored on your Android phone.
