How to Install Drupal Files
Installing Themes
1. Download the Drupal theme you want to install. The theme should come in a zip file. You can download free themes from the Drupal repository or you can purchase a premium theme from a third-party developer such as ThemeShark, Antsin or ThemeSnap.
2. Access your Drupal admin dashboard and click on 'Appearance.' Click on 'Install New Themes.'
3. Click 'Choose File' and select the theme zip package from your computer. Click on 'Install' and wait a few moments while the theme is installed.
4. Click on 'Enable Newly Added Themes,' then check the box next to the theme you want to enable. Enabling a theme makes it the site's active theme, so do not proceed if you aren't ready to set the new theme. Click on 'Save Configuration,' then click on 'Settings' next to the theme to access the theme options panel.
5. Alternatively, extract the theme's zip file to your computer and upload the theme to the 'sites/all/themes' directory on your server. You can then enable the theme in the 'Appearance' section of your admin dashboard.
Installing Modules
6. Download the Drupal module you want to install or copy its FTP file link to your clipboard from the Drupal Module repository.
7. Visit your site and sign in. Click 'Modules' on the administration overlay. Click 'Install a New Module.'
8. Paste the FTP link into the box or click 'Choose File' and select your downloaded module's zip package. Click on 'Install.' Click on 'Enable Newly Added Modules' when the installation wizard is complete, then check the box next to the installed module to enable it. Click on 'Save Configuration.'
9. Alternatively, unzip the downloaded module's zip package to your computer, then upload it to the 'sites/all/modules' folder on your server. This installs the module. Enable it in the 'Modules' section of the admin dashboard.
