Dimensions, Display and Power

Compact and lightweight, the Motorola Milestone XT720 measures 4.6 inches long, 2.4 inches wide and 0.4 inches deep and weighs 5.6 ounces. Its 3.7-inch thin-film transistor capacitive touch screen displays more than 16 million colors at 480 by 854 pixels of resolution. A standard lithium-polymer battery, when fully charged, holds 1,390 milliamp hours of power, providing the phone with up to 320 hours, or 13.3 days, of standby time and up to nine hours of talk time. Compared to similar models on the market in June 2011, these times rank above the seven-hour average for standby time and below the 448-hour average for talk time.

Memory and Connectivity

Equipped with 150MB of data storage and 256MB of RAM, the Motorola Milestone XT720 comes with a built-in micro-Secure Digital card slot for up to 32GB of expanded memory. MicroSD, which offer up to 2GB of memory, and high-capacity microSD cards, which offer between 2GB and 32GB of memory, are compatible with the XT720. For synchronizing data and adding content, the phone connects to a personal computer through a microUSB v2.0 cable. The XT720 is capable of connecting to the 2G and 3G wireless networks and is compatible with Wi-Fi networks, as well.

Camera and Messaging

The Motorola Milestone XT720 is equipped with an 8-megapixel digital camera that captures images at up to 3,264 by 2,448 pixels of resolution and is capable of recording video at 720 pixels of vertical resolution. The phone supports voice, text, video and photo images and provides mobile email service through a connection to a Post Office Protocol or Internet Message Access Protocol servers. The XT720 also sustains push email, which immediately delivers email directly to the phone and does not require the recipient to log in and manually check for new messages.

Miscellaneous

The Motorola Milestone XT720 features an assisted-GPS application that uses a combination of cellular tower and satellite signals to provide navigational functionality. The phone's camera gives you the option of geotagging, a process that embeds map and GPS coordinates into each photo taken. This feature is especially helpful when you're unsure of your location or want to return to the precise location the photo was captured. The XT720 comes with a media player that supports a variety of audio and video file formats, such as MP3, advanced audio coding and H.263.
