How to Move Music From a Computer to a Droid
Direct Transfer
1. Connect a USB cable to your Droid. Connect the other end to an open USB jack on your computer.
2. Press 'Turn On USB Storage' on the Droid. Press 'OK.' When USB storage activates, your computer will detect the Droid.
3. Open Windows Explorer and click 'Computer.' The Droid is listed under 'Devices With Removable Storage.' Double-click the Droid icon.
4. Right-click in the window and create a new folder called 'Music' if one does not exist. Double-click the 'Music' folder to open it.
5. Open a new Windows Explorer window and navigate to where your music files are stored. Drag and drop the files into the 'Music' folder on your Droid, or right-click a file, choose 'Copy,' then right-click in the Droid 'Music' folder and choose 'Paste.' Disconnect the Droid from the USB cable when you have moved your music.
Sync With Windows Media Player
6. Open Windows Media Player while the Droid is connected to your computer and USB storage is turned on. Click 'View,' and choose 'Library' if you are not in the Library view.
7. Click the 'Sync' tab. Windows Media Player will detect your Droid and display how much free space is available on the SD card.
8. Click 'Music.' Drag and drop files or albums from the Library window to the 'Sync List.' You can also open a Windows Explorer window, navigate to a folder where music files are stored, and drag the files into the 'Sync List.'
9. Click 'Start Sync.' When the sync operation is complete, disconnect the Droid from the USB cable.
