How to Convert AutoCAD 2008 to AutoCAD 2004
1. Open the drawing using AutoCAD 2008 as you normally would.
2. Save the drawing by hitting 'S' and then 'Enter' in the Command line. You should follow the same process as you usually do to save a drawing. In case there is a problem when saving to a different version, you will still have your original.
3. Click 'File' and then 'Save As.' A dialog box will pop up if this is done properly.
4. Pick the folder location and a name for the new drawing.
5. Select 'AutoCAD 2004 Drawing (.dwg)' from the bottom pull-down menu to save your current file to an older version. You will notice that there are many other options available if you ever need to save the file to a different version. You can also save the file as a .dxf.
6. Click the 'Save' icon to complete the conversion.
