How to Delete phone.apk telephony.apk on a Nook Color

1. Press the 'Power' button or the 'Home' button. Tap the application drawer.

2. Start your file explorer. Navigate to the '/system/app' folder. Tap 'read/write' or 'RW' if read-write mode is not already activated. Tap 'OK' if your Superuser app asks for permission.

3. Tap and hold the file marked 'phone.apk.' Tap 'Rename.' Change the file name to 'phone.old.' This disables the app without actually removing it; you may need it if you want to upgrade your Nook software later. Tap 'OK.'

4. Tap and hold the file marked 'telephonyprovider.apk.' Tap 'Rename.' Change the file name to 'telephonyprovider.old' and tap 'OK.'

5. Press and hold the 'Power' button. Tap 'Shut Down' and then 'OK.' Press the 'Power' button again to restart your Nook Color.
