How to Print to a PDF on an Android Phone
1. Print to your wireless HP Printer using HP iPrint Photo. One of the few applications that has PDF rendering on it, HP Printer enables you to print not only photos, but also PDFs. It can print wirelessly to any HP printer on your current Wi-Fi network. Open the application from the Application menu, navigate to the PDF file you want to print and select the HP printer you want to use. HP iPrint Photo is available in the Android Market for free.
2. Scan and print PDF files from your Android phone using Brother iPrint&Scan. This application connects your phone over Wi-Fi to your Brother all-in-one printer on the network and allows you to print JPEG and PDF files on a variety of paper sizes. You can also scan on the printer and send the file to your smartphone. Launch the Brother iPrint&Scan application from your Applications menu, tap the 'Print' option and navigate to the file you want to print. View a print preview and tap 'Print.' This application is available in the Android Market for free.
3. Send your PDF files to the printer using PrinterShare. As of the date of publication, the premium version costs approximately $15 in the Android Market. It allows you to print PDF documents over the Internet to a printer connected to a computer, or over your local wireless network, to a printer connected to it. Launch PrinterShare from the Applications menu and tap 'Continue' to go into the available printing options. Tap 'Documents' and navigate to the PDF file you want to print. Preview the print job and tap 'Options' to select a printer. Tap 'Print' when you're ready to send it to a printer.
4. Download the RoboPrint application, at the time of publication under $5 in the Android Market. It requires you to install a Windows Host Service for free on your computer. Signing in to both smartphone and computer allows you to open the application on your smartphone, navigate to the document you want to print, and send it to the printer shared on your Windows computer.
