How do I Set a Google Android Phone?
1. Select which accounts you want to set up on the phone. The menu will pop up automatically the first time the phone is turned on or can be accessed by pressing the menu button and then selecting 'Accounts & Sync' on the touch screen. Add accounts using the 'Add Accounts' button. Link the phone to a Google account for instant access to all Google information, such as email contacts and calendars. To access third-party accounts that have already been set up---such as a social networking site---touch the corresponding phone application and save login information. Repeat for each account you wish to run on the phone.
2. Set your location. Many of the applications on Google android phone models are location-based. Press the menu button and then tap 'Location' on the screen. You can enable GPS from this screen (which will use more battery) or allow your location to be determined based on the wireless network the phone is using.
3. Set notifications and ringtones. Google android phones can be set to make a sound, flash a light or pop an icon in the notifications panel when messages, calls, tweets or other notifications are received. Press the menu button and select 'Notifications' on the touch screen to see what information you have received. Press the menu button, then select 'Settings' and then 'Sound & Display' to select what action each phone application should take when information is received.
