How to Install MMS Settings for a Desire

1. Contact your wireless network provider’s customer service department. Request the OTA settings required for their network. You must know the settings for “Name,” “APN,” Proxy,” “Port,” “Username,” “Password,” “Server,” “MMSC,” “MMS Proxy,” “MMS Port,” “MMS Protocol,” “MCC,” MNC,” “Authentication Type” and “APN Type.”

2. Turn on the phone. Press the “Menu” key.

3. Tap “Settings.” Tap 'Wireless & networks.”

4. Remove the check mark in the box next to “Airplane Mode” (if necessary). Check the box next to “Mobile networks” (if necessary).

5. Tap “Mobile networks.” Tap “Access Point Names.” A list of available APNs will appear if there are any. Delete these.

6. Select the listing of an APN. Press the “Menu” key. Tap “Delete APN.” Repeat as necessary to delete any other current APN settings.

7. Tap “New APN.”

8. Enter the OTA settings you obtained from your wireless network provider in Step 1.

9. Press the “Menu” key. Tap “Save.”
