How to Quit Ongoing Uploads on Droid X

1. Determine which application ('app') is actively uploading data. Most apps will place a status message in the notification bar, the white bar at the top of the phone's screen. Simply slide the bar down and tap on the notification to open the relevant app. If you don't see a notification, but can still see the 'up' bar on the 3G data icon, press and hold the 'Home' button. Tap on each of your recent apps to see which is uploading data.

2. Press the 'Home' button, then the 'Menu' button. Tap 'Settings.' Scroll down the list and tap 'Applications.'

3. Tap 'Manage Applications.' Tap the 'Running' tab in the top area of the screen. Tap the application determined in Step 1.

4. Tap 'Force Stop.' The application will shut down, and any active notifications in the notification bar should cease. If you still see the 'up' bar on the 3G data icon highlighted, repeat Step 1 to find the correct app to stop.
