How to Install Apps on the Samsung Galaxy S II from a PC
Via Browser
1. Visit Google Play in your browser. Log in with your Google account.
2. Search for the app that you want to add to your Galaxy S II. Click on the app name or icon to load the app page.
3. Click the 'Install' button to send the app to your phone. If you have multiple devices, select the Galaxy S II from the drop-down menu before clicking 'Install.' Installation will begin on your phone in a few moments as long as you have a network connection on the device.
With USB Cable
4. Download the APK file for the app that you want to install. You cannot download these from Google Play, but you can find the files on developers' websites and forums or third-party mobile stores. Make sure your anti-virus program is running as you download files to your computer.
5. Connect your S II to your computer with the USB cable. Open 'Settings' app on your phone. Select 'Wireless and Network.' Pick. 'USB Utilities.'
6. Connect your Galaxy S II to your computer with the included USB cable. Your computer will recognize it as a drive that you can open from 'My Computer.' Copy and paste the APK file from its location on your computer to your phone. Disconnect your phone from your computer with the hardware disconnect utility before removing the USB cable.
7. Open the APK file on your Galaxy S II with a file manager app such as Astro,
File Expert or EF File Explorer. Navigate to the folder containing your APK and touch the file icon to open it. An installation prompt will appear. Allow the file to install.
